            non-standard design.

            The original location of the
building was Garden Road, Admiralty where Bank of China is located. It used
to be a soldier barrack and later was used as a government office.
It was demolished in 1982 to give way for development in Central.
The external granite stone of the facade was dissembled with
caution and was stored in Tai Tam as reusable materials. In recent
years, the Hong Kong Government decided to reconstruct the building
in Ma Hang and to use it as a commercial building (restaurant,
            retail and exhibition).

             In addition to
the external granite stone, the building consisted of other reusable
materials. The stone chimneys (8 nos.) were originated from High
Street Mental Hospital. The covered walkway columns (12 nos.) were
old from LDC Shanghai Street Redevelopment site. The flagpoles were
transferred from old Tamar Battle Ship. Besides, the feature stone
columns in promenade were old from private collection.
